Confidence

Don’t overthink how to get “confidence.” The process is natural and simple.

You only start to believe you are confident when you begin taking action.

Act as if you are already confident and your mind will believe you. We’ve all heard of “fake it ’till you make it,” and the surprising reality is that there’s truth to that idiom. Your mind only believes what you tell it. It doesn’t know the difference between reality and dreams, between a million and a dollar, it merely receives what you send it. Much of confidence is in physical carrying–stand straight, smile, adopt a bold demeanor. How we ACT affects how we FEEL about yourselves, and what really influences us is not how things really are, but how we THINK things are. Try this: pick a hero or role model who oozes with confidence, and put on that person, become them in a confident pose. It may sound silly, but it’s this self-image, this sort of self-imposed, deliberate attitude, that influences much of confidence. I’m not advocating idolizing others–you should be your own hero. But this is an example of “putting on” confidence.

Self-Talk

You affect yourself with your words, even your thoughts about yourself. Instead of doubt, tell yourself that you’ve got this! Ignore your inner critics. Your inner critic is only right if you let it be!

Back yourself. Talk to yourself like a winner, not a loser, and you’ll have more confidence.

Put The Outcome Aside

Sometimes you have to put your outcome aside. Everything you do is a lesson and will give you confidence. Where your energy flows to, so does your focus. Focus on being confident. Focus on doing your best and not worrying so much about what happens. What happens happens to us all–focus on how you handle it, with confidence.

You Are Incredible

Remember that you are incredible for waking up each day and just giving it a crack! Say yes to things that bring you joy, offers and proposals, and figure out the strategy as you go. Even if you fail, you learn, and all this compounds towards the success you deserve–that will be yours as long as you keep going!

We’re all flawed, especially the people you idolize. Try stuff, execute some wild goals, stop idolizing and be confident in your own ability to get shit done. You can become the very thing you idolize–you can be better than that, even, far better. Nothing is impossible.

So remember: we are all extraordinary when we believe we are!

Belief in yourself is key. The truth is that everyone can be an extraordinary person–the opportunity exists for us all. Let this very idea give you the confidence to change the world. Because you can.

You don’t need a new life. You need to understand that you’re already extraordinary.
